The 62nd International Film Festival, held in Cannes took place from 13-24 May and featured the usual multitude of film screenings, speeches and red carpet events – even a Tarantino two-step – yep, Youtube, that’s all I can say!

A whole lotta talk is flying about on Angelina Jolie and her “cut up to there” pink dress, we were just relieved to see her making the most of her vampish appeal! So with all the goss you may have missed some really fabulous dresses on show, plus the hair styles, the jewellery, make-up…. we could go on, so have a sneaky peek here…

Check out the lovely actress Zhang Ziyi in her black 1950s style dress, cute peep toes, and fabulous cuff bracelets. Ziyi’s choice of a vintage style dress followed one of the most popular themes of the festival, as you can also see by the glamourous Claudia Schiffer and Dita Von Teese – the retro runway was in full swing this year.

Making another stylish statement were Oscar winner Hilary Swank and supermodel Eva Herzigova –both emanating that sexy old Hollywood glam!

Well you’ve seen our favourites, lets just hope the films are as satisfying xxx

Pins, brooches…whatever you like to call them – Claudia is obviously a big fan and hey why not? The vintage brooch is high fashion this year with good reason. With such a wide and wonderful selection out there to choose from you can find one to jazz up any outfit!

Add to the lapel of your fave jacket, clip on to a floral neck scarf or on the cleavage line of a dress or Summer vest for an alternative twist.

Here are some of our very own pins to get you started:

No we don’t have clips of Blanch and the gals from the famous ‘Miami –based’ 80s tv show (although watch this space…) These particular golden girls are all about the glitzy golden dress!

Even if you don’t have the matching tan quite yet (lets face it, we’ll all be buying ours from the pharmacy anyway), you’ll still feel like a superstar in a sparkling, golden-hued gown. Although the three of our chosen girls here are blondes metallic gold works amazingly well on all hair colours and complexions, yes you brunettes and redheads will shine equally as strong!

Elizabeth Banks goes for true Hollywood glam in her Kaufman Franco slit-front gown, vintage-loving Richie went retro in her heavily beaded Reem Acra piece, and Jessica Biel sparkled in a strapless Oscar de la Renta column gown.

And there’s no reason us mere mortals can’t glimmer like a goddess too –check out this amazing gold hostess dress from the 70s –just one of our sparklers at Perk Up!
