YAY!! The highly anticipated second ever Dublin Vintage Fashion and Decor Fair has been announced, taking place on 17th & 18th October in the Ballsbridge Inn Hotel, Dublin 4.

Because of the massive success of the inaugural event in April, the organizer Joan Murray (of Antiques Fairs Ireland) is extending this into a 2 day event in the city centre. We’ll have all the same fun activities that made the first fair so popular, such as vintage cars, dancers, jazz music, fashion shows, competitions and a few more special surprises!

All of this plus the very best of Irelands Vintage clothing retailers with antiques, décor, jewellery, books and lots more goodies for all your vintage needs!

And as if this weren’t enough to whet your retro appetite – there will be a Vintage Ball on Saturday night, 17th October, organized by Dublindy with 2 live bands, professional dancers and lots more entertainment to keep you partying the night away - and no better excuse to show off your bargain buys from the Saturday’s shopping!  Or to get some inspiration for that vintage spree on Sunday! If you want a taste of what will be happening at the ball, go to Dublindy’s Vertical Rhythm Club at the Speigel Tent on 9th September during the Dublin Fringe Festival.

Perk Up are delighted to be attending the fair again and we will have some very special offers of our own over the weekend –such as a bargain sale rail and giveaway coupons with every sale so be sure to check us out!

Now here’s the most amazing incentive to keep a gal on her toes in the fashoon blogging world - the monthly Fashion Bloggers Brunch – organised by the fabulous Annmarie O’Connor, journo, uber-stylist and pen of I blog fashion. Thanks so much for the invite Annmarie – God bless your organizational skills!

We had an amazing feast laid on by the good folk of Marks & Spencers in their bright and airy Rooftop restaurant on Grafton Street – who knew? Not me but I’ll surely be back – fab views over the Grafton Street Saturday bustle from the spacious patio and indoors an even fancier view of three delicious courses, one or 6 bottles of sav blanc and did I mention the cava ? ooh lots of the bubbly stuff finished me off nicely – although not literally mind you…(also check out their roof-top recession-busting lunch special -2 courses plus vino for a mere 12.50!!)

Was so great to meet fellow fashion and lifestyle bloggers such as Sinead of the savvy shopper, Catherine from Offshoot, Ailbhe of Bluebirds are so Natural, Blanaid of blanaid.com, stylist Angela Scanlon and fellow vintage retailer Caroline of Dirty Fabulous.

Fashion chatter, fab food n’ booze and lotsa fun…the countdown begins for next months outing!

The new ‘in model’ of the mo and face of Burberry (stand back Agy), British beaut Rosie Huntington-Whitely, attended London’s Serpentine Gallery party last week looking cool and catwalk cocky in an amazing bias cut vintage maxi. She works this look like only a gal in the business can - looking retro but glam with a sequin- embellished bolero on top and pulls this off without going ott. One to copy we thinks!

And it aint the first time we’ve seen Rosie go retro – remember the star studded event that was Leah Woods wedding in December? She almost stole the show in this amazing 1940s champagne silk gown, accessorized by a gold clutch and one Tyrone Wood – bro of the bride.

And speaking of the Woods – check out Jo looking sensational in her sparkling 1940s dress and enviable shrug at the same Serpentine party, showing the gals how to pull off vintage glam effortlessly…

And at a previous happening party across town was another knock-out gown…hosting a do’ for Martini the ever gorgeous Thandie Newton who is also the new face for the brand, looked stunning in a beautiful black vintage dress with lace gold trimmed detailing. She certainly was the hostess with the mostest and suffice to say drinks were on the house…
