Anna Friel is stunning both audience and paps in her on and off stage to-die-for vintage ensembles. Anna is currently on-stage taking on one of the most iconic images in cinematic/fashion history as Audrey Hepburns Holly Golightly in Truman Capote’s classic ‘Breakfast at Tiffanys’. Although movie buffs be warnedthere’s no rendition of Moon River, no 60’s up dos and pearls and no cracker box ring… adaptor Samuel Adamson has revisited the original 1940s wartime setting and binned the Hollywood ending, which means plenty of elegant 40s fash on show! And the stage production also re-incorporates those nude scenes omitted from the movie version- so yes plenty of Friel derriere on display.

I don’t know if its just the cold draught giving Anna the willies, but she’s telling pals there may be a spook in the house…she feels she’s being observed and followed to the wings by people that she cannot see, a friend told the Daily Mail. She joked it could even be Truman himself! Or just the haunting eyes of every living man in the theatre we reckon…

From spectres to spectacular - Anna truly shined every evening post theatre in an amazing display of vintage outfits. Says the star ‘I’m as happy as a pig in shit in a vintage store.’ Check out that 40s ivory satin beauty she wore to the shows afterparty, yummy… Anna says she kept a stack of heels and hats in her room at the Theatre Royal to keep fans and paparazzi entertained. She said: ‘Now the paps are hanging around the stage door every night I like to put them on to leave the theatre.’
In true vintage Hollywood style, loving the girls work!

Breakfast At Tiffany’s, by Truman Capote, is at the Theatre Royal Haymarket London.

Ah yeah, remember the days of Leeroy and Coco? The dancing, the singing, the theatrics, the ‘will they or wont they get into each others leotards and share leg warmers?’ When the original ‘Fame’ movie and series first hit our screens (personally I caught the re-runs many years later…) it sent a quake through the lives of teens worldwide, wow imagine going to that school? Hot lunch-time jams on the canteen tables and dancing over taxi-roofs in a choreographed dance home…It all sent a certain blogger in search of fluoro gym wear in order to wear whilst attempting to run up walls…I kid you not!

So for those who don’t remember this TV show, try and try again to get your mitts on the retro originals for a good ol laugh and an eyeful of those classic outfits before venturing out to the latest blockbuster. It follows students at New York’s High School for the Performing Arts, which teaches mega-talented students normal lessons alongside performing arts classes while following the drama of their daily lives - and that of the teachers too.

The bonus for us viewers way back was that a show about talented students guaranteed us many song and dance numbers, the odd bit of comedy and interspersed with a dose of angst this really was a remedy for tv success.

Of course the new movie is right up to date, trendier rags guaranteed, but we couldn’t help getting  nostalgic about the original threads:

If you’re missing a bit of 80s too, fear not, plenty of reminders in store…Check out our 80s collection and ‘remember, remember, remember……’
