After drooling and dreaming over the last posts Golden Globe frocks, I was just a li’l bit excited to find that a lady after my own heart made waves on that carpet too…No not a knife-wielding loon, but the stunning recycler that is Livia Giuggioli, wife of one Colin Firth - yep the dashing one. You see the gorgeous Liv arrived in this amazing reconstructed vintage Christiana Couture wedding dress and had this to say:

“The re-purposed Christiana Couture wedding dress was a HUGE success in the sense that I don’t think I’ve ever had so many compliments for a dress in one night. But people here do not seem to understand the concept of ethical fashion – they loved the dress but when I revealed the origin they sort of switch off as if it’s not cool anymore because it was once a wedding dress. It’s made me realise that although repurposing and vintage are great, we need to go one step further and make a really strong ethical fashion statement. Which means I now have to find the perfect dress for the Screen Actors Guild Awards in exactly a week.”

Go girl…Livia and Colin also happen to be co-owners of ‘Eco Age’ which is a popular London green store, so upcycling obviously comes so very natural to this lady.

We wonder what ‘couture with a conscience’ she’ll wear next, and here’s hoping the trend is catching on!

Time again ladies for watching the beautiful ones sashay around in outfits we’d give our right arm to wrestle into –and this year the style stakes were met and matched all over that rug! So many there to hate – I mean to admire, ahem…here are just a few of our favourites from the 2010 Golden Globes…

Proving why she is so legendary on and off screen- Sophia Loren lights up the red carpet in a chic and sophisticated black gown that accentuates the sexy lady’s amazing curves…

Halle shows us she’s still got it – in abundance! Wearing a Kaufman Franco onyx silk bias-cut gown with lace inserts and Christian Louboutin heels. Remember she’s 40 plus now…how depressing

We make no secret here of loving Dianes style - and she hasn’t let us down, dazzling in a Christian Lacroix gown, accessorized with Chanel jewels, what a star!

Nine babe Marion Cotillard sizzled in this teal Christian Dior frock, accessorized with Jimmy Choos, does she ever put a Choo-clad foot wrong?

Wow Jen, way to put that ‘girl next door’ tag to rest, amazing! Wearing Valentino Couture, sporting killer pins, a do-to-die-for and with Gerard Butler at her feet, does a night out get any better than this?

Anna Paquin and boyf Stephen Moyer of ‘True Blood’ sizzled on the red carpet – not just on-screen chemistry then eh - Paquin went with the golden theme in a plunging gold sequined Stella McCartney gown and vintage Stephen Russell jewels.

From Avatar 3D to red carpet 3D – not many can pull off such a dramatic piece but Zoe Saldana manages with ease in this deep red Louis Vuitton gown and Brian Atwood ‘Wagner’ heels.

Enough for now, I’m suffering wardrobe envy and we still have Oscar madness ahead, sigh…
