The little black dress gets a major dose of sex appeal this season with swirling silver sequins, glitter and asymmetric tailoring – it’s no wonder Selita Ebanks, Taylor Swift and Zoe Saldana look so hot here!
And the added beauty of this bit of bling on your lbd means you need no or the bare minimum of accessories – think diamonte earrings, a cute clutch and killer heels!
So if you’ve got the accessory part covered but need one of these drop dead dresses – well look what we’ve just got in store!

‘Dynasty’ – ah yes that cutting edge real life drama that shaped our childhoods and challenged us on oh so many levels…well okay it was a campy, ott bit of entertainment – but it had glam in abundance!
One of those larger than life soap operas, it purported to portray the lives of the wealthy rich while embracing the greed, glamour and excesses of the Reagan-era 1980s, set in Denver Colorado.
It centered around the wealthy but troubled Carrington family, headed by the powerful oil tycoon Blake Carrington but the ladies undoubtedly ruled the screen from the beautiful and sweet Krystle (Linda Evans) to bad girl Fallon (Pamela Sue Martin), and of course Blake’s scheming ex-wife, Alexis (Joan Collins).
The outfits spoke volumes about the fashion du jour – big brash and loud evening gowns (thank you Joan ) and power suits with shoulder pads so big they came with their own postcodes. And lets not even start on the hair and make-up department! Needless to say they had their work cut out…
To celebrate that Dynasty-esque style, we’ve got some fabulous, albeit toned down, glam straight from the 80s:

Joseph Ribkoff – a fashion force to be reckoned with! Here’s a hot Canadian label which has been going strong since 1957 and one of those few who have successfully made it in every era since. As the man himself says: ‘I know women’ Well fair play to him – it shows! This designer label is usually described as ‘classic styling with an edge’ – but at a fraction of the designer price tags.
Ribkoff has created a product that has massive global appeal, by watching top end designers and listening to their customer’s needs they create clothing to complement the range of feminine shapes – we love that! The designer also dresses Miss America contestants so if it’s good enough for Miss California, well…
Not only do they use classic styles that are flattering to so many women, but use  unique fabrics and add embellishments for a funky twist. At Perk Up! Vintage we have a couple of stunning and very unique Ribkoff wiggle dresses from the 80’s which have been revamped into shorter, sexier styles for the modern gal.
