In these pap-frenzied showbiz times you can’t really blame a beautiful, famous, fiancé-ed duo for bypassing the hungry media-moguls jaws and leggin’ it to secluded surrounds to get hitched, eh?? No, it’s not Katie-any-Price and Mr Potato-head for the third time…We’re talking about the beautiful pair that are Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr.

The loved up lovelies have been photographed at LA airport following their Caribbean honeymoon, and sporting mega sparklers. It’s been revealed that they married in a secret ceremony somewhere in America last Thursday.

Apparently Miranda requested four Colette Dinnigan vintage dresses to choose from with the precious frocks flown from Sydney to LA especially for the big day. She also presented Orlando with a ring made by Sydney jewellery designer Stefano Canturi, this gal sure does stay true to her roots! We congrat you on your taste Miranda – both fashion and fella…

Check out our beautiful 1950s revamped wedding gown which was used on a shoot with our fabulous photographer Nancy Pineda. The location of the day was Buswells Hotel in Dublin city centre, a fitting and elegant interior which teamed perfectly with our vintage collection.

 

This never worn dress was perked up with a beautiful hand stitched sequin-embroidery section across the bust and a delicate satin ribbon belt. Currently on sale at The Loft at the knocked down price of 165.00 euros. And many more fab wedding dresses await there!!

After drooling and dreaming over the last posts Golden Globe frocks, I was just a li’l bit excited to find that a lady after my own heart made waves on that carpet too…No not a knife-wielding loon, but the stunning recycler that is Livia Giuggioli, wife of one Colin Firth – yep the dashing one. You see the gorgeous Liv arrived in this amazing reconstructed vintage Christiana Couture wedding dress and had this to say:

 “The re-purposed Christiana Couture wedding dress was a HUGE success in the sense that I don’t think I’ve ever had so many compliments for a dress in one night. But people here do not seem to understand the concept of ethical fashion – they loved the dress but when I revealed the origin they sort of switch off as if it’s not cool anymore because it was once a wedding dress. It’s made me realise that although repurposing and vintage are great, we need to go one step further and make a really strong ethical fashion statement. Which means I now have to find the perfect dress for the Screen Actors Guild Awards in exactly a week.”

Go girl…Livia and Colin also happen to be co-owners of ‘Eco Age’ which is a popular London green store, so upcycling obviously comes so very natural to this lady.

We wonder what ‘couture with a conscience’ she’ll wear next, and here’s hoping the trend is catching on!

Former supermodel Jerry Hall auctioned off her wedding gown for a homeless charity called Emmaus - we are loving her attitude towards recycling, her ethics and of course the fact that this is a gorgeous vintage gown -circa 1989- back in circulation!

The vintage wedding dress is a form-fitting cream lace dress designed by Antony Price and she had worn it when she exchanged vows with Jagger in Bali in 1990. Jerry commented:

“I love it that my dresses can have a new lease of life in someone else’s wardrobe I just thought, ‘This is a great way of recycling (But) it’s really odd to think that some other woman might wear it at her wedding. I just hope whoever she is has more luck than I did!”

We have an amazing dress we think would make a stunning wedding gown – or just make you feel like rock n’ roll royalty should the occasion arise! Check it out…
