…Former Bond babe Gemma Arterton loves shopping in vintage stores because she can haggle over the price – not that she’s a total scab like…just a warrior of the swing tags

Vogue magazine online reported: Shez she…

“Yesterday I bought an incredible pair of vintage, leather harem trousers in a shop in Los Angeles. I couldn’t believe it when I looked at the price tag and they were USD 38,” said Arterton.

Although she likes a bargain, the 24-year-old beauty does enjoy getting dressed up for the red carpet because it means she can wear expensive gowns, something she wouldn’t do in everyday life.

“Of course I enjoy it! I get to wear things that I would never be able to wear in my own life’’ Yep, like 2 dollar thrift-shop finds Miss (now renamed) ‘Tight Arterton’

More nooz this side of d’pond… Junior Apprentice star Zoe Plummer has revealed her plans for an online vintage clothing company. The 16-year-old, who lost out in the final, is launching her own business venture with her sister Rebecca.

“We are setting up and launching a new online company ‘victoryvintage.co.uk’, selling vintage clothing, so now my exams are over for this year I’m going to put lots of work into making that a huge success,” she said…with her unnaturally screwed on 16-year old brain, hello? At 16 the only success she should be making is that of bad fashion choices and hair-do’s designed to haunt her for decades…kids these days?

Meanwhile, on a shopping street Stateside…savvy Anne Hathaway was busy building a fashionable summer wardrobe during a shopping trip at ‘Only Hearts boutique’ on Mott Street in New York. There with girlfriends, the actress picked up some Only Hearts dresses, including a vintage black and floral-print frock and a tan floral dress. Hathaway also snagged some white canvas Ash sneakers….Hathsaway to do it girls (sorry, couldn’t resist the cheesy flavour…)

And a little glimpse of some L.A ladies flaunting their retro wares…

Mary Kate Olsen wears a leopard print jumpsuit from the 1980s from Vintage store The Way We Wore whilst out on the town…yet another reason to plan that Olsen wardrobe heist, anyone in?

Lauren Conrad, who has penned her own book with the imaginative title Style, was spotted toting a recycled shopping bag whilst doin the weekly shop…

Looking for an exhibition with a twist? Or need a day out to quench your fashion thirst? Well get yourself to Bray before the weekend is out! Bébhinn Flood is the innovative designer behind this very special event  ‘The Art of Fashion Exhibition’ - local fashion designer with her own label, she is also a resident of The Loft Market. She explains:

”Through running my label I saw the correlation between creating one-off couture fashion pieces and other artistic forms such as painting, sculpture etc.  I’m having an exhibition opening Friday 25th June . This exhibition aims to explore the notion of fashion as an art form.  It displays how fashion is in many cases a highly-skilled art form, by showing classic craft techniques with a new fashion twist in a beautiful, sophisticated and timeless way. The show incorporates unique handmade beaded garments, textural wall pieces and knitted works with display mannequins placed looking at the pieces but wearing garments inspired by the work on the wall.”

Quirky Paloma doesn’t do tame – you may have noticed – whether it’s performing onstage or pounding the pavements looking for that next great vintage find the girl wears it well… as she shows us here.

Says miss Faith “I am never what you think. The mundane can be beautiful. So can the extraordinary.”

Her speedy rise to stardom took a massive leap last year when her debut single ‘Stone Cold Sober’ was brought forward a month because UK radio had leapt on it with such fervour that they couldn’t be stopped from playing it. New York and the title track Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful? And Upside Down quickly followed.

“It’s been an amazing year,” she giggles. “I’ve been so fortunate”. Well done you funky femme! and keep those amazing vintage fashion shows coming…
