Lily has postponed her much talked about retirement from the music industry for another whopping four months…The star has been telling us for some time that her show with Dizzee Rascal at the O2 Arena in March would be her last before she concentrates on the world of fashion. But she has now signed up to play on the same bill as Jay-Z at London’s Wireless festival on July 4 before hanging up her mic.

But enough about that, what’s all this fashion talk eh?? Another collaberation blah blah blah…But no, I thought that too and was wrong wrong wrong. Lily and older sis Sarah Owen are setting up a vintage clothing line called Lucy in Disguise (lovin the name) which will be a rental business for now.

Lily announced  “I’m doing a vintage clothes shop with my sister, it’s amazing stuff that would be really expensive but we’re renting it for a fraction of the price, so girls can come and get dressed up for a night out and have a laugh.”

“I’m having a career change for a while. I’m concentrating on something else. I’d like to get my brand and my shop going, and then if it does well, we’ll definitely think about branching out on our own label,” she told the Press Association.

Lily said she wanted to stop touring and making music because it’s a “really big commitment”.

Well established for her personal style, Lily’s undergone a major style evolution since her early career days. Remember those cute prom dresses paired with trainers? Not too shabby was her transformation into a Lagerfeld muse, both performing at the Chanel catwalk show and posing very Audrey-esque for the campaign pics.

Lucy In Disguise will be unveiled at the ‘Vintage at Goodwill’ festival- a music, vintage and retail event at Goodwood this August. She has made it very clear that she will not, repeat will not perform- so no pestering for requests over there ye hear…

Good news for all fashionistas Stateside – a highly anticipated collaberation has been born…Alexa Chung’s collection designed for clothing label Madewell was unleashed on Monday at New York Fashion Week – and so far thumbs are firmly up for the British beauty.

Just like the former models recognisable statement look the collection features a selection of hip shorts, vintage-style blouses, boho mini dresses, with focus on stripes, velvet and plaid. The catwalk models were given the Chung-treatment all the way with very natural make-up, bed-head locks and accessorised simply even down to the boyfriend brogues Alexa favours.

Speaking about her debut Alexa said: “Madewell’s vision is kind of the same as mine. They like laid-back styles, they like kind of relaxed clothes – classic, timeless things. So when they asked to collaborate, it was a perfect fit.”   The collection is available in the U.S from September in Madewell stockists, we’re keeping our ear to the ground for a hopeful Atlantic crossing…Here are a few Chung-tastic looks behind the inspiration:
